So I just found an old journal which is always exciting. It’s really fun to read something you’ve jotted down once you are far enough removed from the initial conception that it feels like you’re reading someone else’s writing. I always wished I could re-create this feeling for the music I’ve made. Maybe a few more years down the road I’ll feel this for TREOS?
As a disclaimer, I don’t remember writing any of this or recall what the concepts and contexts were behind these entries. Either way, it made for some fun reading, trying to get back into my own head from 5 years ago!
#1: “You ever want someone to smile? Turn on a camera. You ever wanted someone to give up a frown like a bad habit? Expose some film. No one wants to be captured looking upset forever. No matter what the occasion, the human spirit will almost always muster up enough to fake a smile if eternal implications are involved. “
#2: “If we knew half the things the people we loved have done to the past’s present and in turn to us, we wouldn’t feel like living anymore.”
#3: “Imagine a church, a religion, a cult with the foresight to ensure a future of dedicated live’s attracted to a fiction created 25 years prior. Imagine a child born as a sacrifice, a matyr, an experience, a robot to this accult. Who could deny what they had planned? Who could possibly resist this inevitable force that changed black to white, evil to good, hell to heaven?
Picture this; a boy who lives his entire life building a scripted resume of wrongdoings and crimes, from petty robbery to rape. etc… Now picture him healing people…”
#4: “The only way to save someone you love is to lose yourself. Just don’t get too involved. Don’t get too attatched to letting go.”
definitely tried...thoughts weren’t nearly...interesting as...
